Obituary of Geraldine Maria Marcotte

MARCOTTE: Geraldine Maria “Jeri” Passed away at peacefully at home, surrounded by her family on Wednesday April 12, 2017. Jeri Marcotte of R.R. #2 Selwyn, in her 90th year. Born and raised in Windsor, Nova Scotia, beloved wife for 51 years of Grant (d. 2006). Jeri was Past President of the Ladies Auxiliary (2 Terms) of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #9, Windsor, N.S. and a member of the church choir and Avon Glee Club. She was also a life member of the Canadian Cairn Club and active in many sports. Jeri was a graduate of the Windsor School of Business and held various positions throughout her working career. Sadly missed by her children, Elizabeth Anne “Liz” (Ivan Nesbitt) of Peterborough, Jeanne Samonas (Lou) of Toronto, Bill Marcotte (Georgina) of Fife’s Bay Rd., and Nancy Marcotte (Sue Barr) of Peterborough. Dear grandmother of Laura Nesbitt (Ken), Holly Smith (Tristan), Andrew, David and Marc Samonas, Peter Marcotte (Mandy), Maryanne MacLeish (Jesse) and Grant Marcotte. Great grandmother of Autumn, Blake, Ryan, Tessa, Noah, Madeline and Georgina. Survived by her sister Elizabeth “Betty” Murdock and the late Jack of Peterborough and brother-in-law Tommy Marcotte (the late Pat). Predeceased by her parents Bill Singer and Edith Singer (Taylor), brother Billy Singer and sister Shirley Singer. Cremation has taken place and at Jeri’s request there will be no service.
